This site is dedicated to the memory of Ethel Courtney.

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our adored mother Ethel Courtney.Early in the morning of January 1st, 2013, mom left us to be with her beloved husband Don who she had missed dearly since his death in April. Ethel passed away peacefully at home with her children by her side. Ethel May Wynn Bird, born on November 4th, 1930, was the youngest child of Charles and Margaret Bird. She was predeceased by her brothers Bailey and John as well as her sister Pearl. Ethel was a great friend to her in-laws Irene and Delores Bird and Alan Tyndal. Ethel and Don traveled greatly during their 56 years of marriage and made many precious friendships along the way. Everyone a treasure to mom. Mom will be greatly missed by her children and their spouses Lorie and Mike Brooks, Chris and Tony Wing, Jo Courtney and Wayne Sexton, Don and Brenda Courtney, Dave and Carolyn Courtney as well as her 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Her son Chuck and and grandson Bradley Brooks were waiting anxiously with Dad to be together again in their eternal lives. Thank you Dr. Brian Wilson for 10 years of compassionate care. Thanks also to the Dufferin County Bayshore Palliative Care nursing team. Please light a candle or share a memory of Ethel.
