Ethel had an absolutely incredible singing voice! Nothing made her husband prouder than to watch Ethel sing in front of a group. It brought tears to his eyes more times than not. Often having to be coaxed into singing, sometimes needing a shot of brandy to sooth her throat, she always filled the room with a truly remarkable sound. In fact, she is one of the few that has actually sung for and personally greeted the Pope at Vatican! My fondest memories of her singing are those when she sung Oh Holy Night to the family on Christmas, perhaps only outdone by the time she sang that very song at Jennifer's wedding, something that we have recorded on disk to treasure forever.
